New in IT Portal 4.6.41 · Q4 2026
Overview
If you run your service desk in HaloPSA and your documentation in IT Portal, your technicians shouldn't have to keep both open side by side to understand a single device. Until now the integration brought across the basics: devices, contacts, contracts and sites. The detail your team keeps in Halo stayed in Halo.
IT Portal 4.6.41 brings much more of it through. Every synced device gets its own HaloPSA tab, and the sync can now pull in your companies, knowledge base, software licenses and suppliers as well.
This update was shaped by HaloPSA customers who asked for a richer, more dependable integration, and they reviewed the plan before we built it.
The HaloPSA tab: the asset as Halo sees it
Open a device in IT Portal and the new HaloPSA tab shows its Halo record at a glance:
- Asset details: type, model, manufacturer, serial number, operating system, site, supplier, contract, last seen, and whether the asset is active.
- Owners: the business owner and technical owner recorded in Halo.
- Custom fields: all the custom fields you maintain on the asset.
- Installed software: the full list, with a search box so you can find a title in seconds.
- Recent tickets: how many tickets were raised against the asset in the last 90 days, plus the five most recent.
- One-click links: open the asset, or all of its tickets, straight in HaloPSA.
A technician looking at a device can now see whether it is a repeat offender, who owns it and what is installed on it without leaving the documentation. The tab is in both the classic and the new IT Portal interface.
More of your Halo data, synced
Four new sync options let you choose what else comes across:
- Companies: full client records, including address, phone and website. Existing companies are matched and updated, not duplicated.
- Knowledge Base: Halo KB articles imported into the IT Portal knowledge base, in a default category you choose.
- Software Licenses: brought in as license agreements, with agreement types created for you from your Halo license types.
- Suppliers: brought in as Vendor companies, for teams that want their suppliers documented too.
Every option is off until you switch it on, so nothing changes for existing customers until you decide it should.
A more dependable sync
We also made the integration tougher. The sync now respects HaloPSA's API rate limits, waiting and retrying instead of stopping halfway through a busy run. Each part of the sync runs on its own, so a problem with one area doesn't hold up the rest, and the log tells you exactly which part needs attention.
Why it matters
- Less tab-switching. The Halo context your technicians need sits right on the device record.
- Faster troubleshooting. Ticket history and installed software on one screen make it quicker to spot patterns.
- Richer documentation with no extra typing. Companies, licenses, KB articles and suppliers flow in from the system you already keep up to date.
- You stay in control. Switch on only what you want synced.
