Turn Off Anonymous File Upload Links With One Checkbox

Update

Coming in IT Portal 4.6.27 · Q3 2026

Anonymous uploads, now your call

Public upload links are handy for collecting a file from someone outside your portal — but not every MSP wants that door open. If anonymous uploads don't fit your security posture, you can now simply turn them off.

A new checkbox under Site Settings → Site Options → Additional Options to Disable switches public, anonymous file upload links off across the entire portal.

What happens when it's on

  • The upload link icon disappears from every folder row — Companies, Cabinets, Knowledge Bases, Documents, and the rest. There's nothing for anyone to share.
  • Links you'd already shared stop working gracefully: the public upload page shows a clean "Feature Disabled" notice instead of a confusing error, so anyone holding an old link gets a clear message rather than a dead end.
  • Leave the box off and everything works exactly as it does today.

No code changes, no support ticket — just one checkbox, and it's fully translated across all 7 supported languages.

Availability

The option to disable anonymous file uploads ships with IT Portal 4.6.27, scheduled for Q3 2026.
