Overview
Cloud infrastructure changes constantly, and keeping a written record of it by hand never lasts. IT Portal's new AWS integration does it for you: connect an AWS account and your environment is documented automatically, then kept up to date on its own.
It is read-only. IT Portal only ever describes your AWS account - it never changes anything in it - so you get living documentation of your cloud with zero risk to production.
Why it matters

Connect in minutes
From Admin Settings, add an AWS account, give it a name, and choose the company it belongs to. Paste in a read-only access key, tick the services and regions you want to document, and use the built-in Test to confirm the key can reach them. IT Portal shows the exact minimal permissions each service needs, so you grant nothing more than required.

IT Portal captures the AWS building blocks your team actually needs on record, including:
- EC2 instances and security groups
- EBS volumes and snapshots
- S3 buckets, with region, versioning, and public-access settings
- RDS databases

Your AWS integration opens on an Overview - the accounts you have connected, a running count of what has been documented, and a one-click sync whenever you want the very latest.
From there you can dig in two ways:
AWS Resources gives you a fast, searchable list of everything documented, filterable by company, resource type, and region.
AWS Topology lays the same data out as an at-a-glance tree - account, then region, then resource type - so you can see how the environment is structured and drill straight down to any resource.
Built into the documentation you already trust
Every AWS resource becomes a first-class record in IT Portal, so you can relate it to other systems, add notes, and attach the credentials that go with it. The same company and role based access controls that protect the rest of your data apply here too, so people only ever see the cloud resources they are meant to.
